Speaking Report Maintenance Completed & Practice Library Update
LatestDear users,
The maintenance of Speaking Report generation has now been completed. Speaking tests and report generation are working normally again.
We have also completed a new round of optimisation for both Writing and Speaking Reports. The number of credits required to generate these reports has been reduced by approximately one-third.
This is currently the furthest we can reduce the cost while maintaining reliable report quality. Further reductions would require using substantially lighter assessment methods and could make scoring, feedback, and error analysis noticeably less consistent. Our priority is to keep the reports useful and dependable rather than reduce the credit cost at the expense of quality.
We would also like to update you on the previously announced difficulty ratings and practice filters for Listening and Reading.
After reviewing the idea in more detail, we have decided not to introduce difficulty labels at this time.
IELTS does not provide a detailed official difficulty rating for each individual Listening or Reading test, part, or passage. In these sections, each correct answer receives one mark, giving a raw score out of 40, which is then converted to an IELTS band score.
Without a reliable and consistent official framework for determining whether an individual test or part should be labelled, for example, Easy, Medium, or Hard, any difficulty rating created by Auvoxi would inevitably involve subjective judgement. We do not believe it would be fair or helpful to IELTS learners to present such estimates as though they were objective difficulty levels.
For this reason, the planned difficulty filters will not be added unless we can establish a sufficiently reliable method of assessment in the future.
Although the difficulty-rating project was not implemented, we still completed a broader review of the practice library in late August. Practice materials on the website were updated, and the downloadable Listening, Reading, and Writing PDF practice materials were also reviewed and improved.
Thank you for your patience during the recent Speaking Report maintenance and for continuing to use Auvoxi.
