Introduction and Interview
Answer familiar questions naturally and directly.
What are you studying?
I’m studying digital marketing at the moment. The course covers website content, search engines, social media, and basic data analysis, so it’s quite practical.
Why did you choose this subject?
I chose it because I’m interested in how businesses reach people online. I also wanted to study something I could apply directly to real projects rather than only learning theory.
What do you find most challenging about your studies?
The hardest part for me is analysing data. It’s easy to see numbers in a report, but understanding why people behaved in a certain way takes much more thought.
Are you a tidy person?
Fairly tidy, yes. I don’t need everything to look perfect, but I prefer my desk and room to be organised because clutter distracts me when I’m trying to study.
Do you think it's important to be tidy?
Yes, to a reasonable degree. Being tidy saves time because you know where things are, but I don’t think people need to keep their homes perfectly organised all the time.
How often do you clean your room?
I do a proper clean once a week, usually at the weekend. During the week, I just put things away and wipe my desk when it starts getting messy.
Do you make healthy food choices?
Most of the time, yes. I try to eat balanced meals and avoid too much fried food, although I still have snacks or takeaway occasionally when I’m busy.
What healthy foods do you eat regularly?
I regularly eat eggs, vegetables, fruit, yogurt, and simple meals with rice or noodles. I also try to drink plenty of water instead of having sweet drinks every day.
What makes healthy food choices difficult?
Convenience is probably the biggest problem. When people are tired or busy, fast food is easier than cooking. Healthy options can also be more expensive in some places.

Describe a person you enjoy spending time with
- Who the person is
- How you know them
- What you usually do together
- Why you enjoy their company
A person I really enjoy spending time with is my cousin Daniel. He’s about two years older than me, and we’ve known each other our whole lives because our families have always been quite close. We don’t meet every week, but we usually see each other a couple of times a month. Sometimes we go out for dinner or coffee, and other times we just walk around a shopping area and talk. We also both like technology, so we often discuss new apps, websites, or small projects we’re working on. What I enjoy most about his company is that conversation feels easy. I don’t have to think carefully about what to say, and we can talk seriously about work or study one minute and joke about something completely unimportant the next. He’s also a good listener. If I’m worried about something, he normally lets me explain it before giving his opinion instead of immediately telling me what to do. I think that makes spending time with him relaxing rather than tiring. Even when we don’t have a specific activity planned, I usually go home feeling more positive, which is why I value the relationship so much.
Is this person still important to you now?
Yes, definitely. We don’t see each other constantly, but he’s still one of the first people I would contact if I needed advice or simply wanted company.

Discussion
Develop your ideas with reasons, examples, comparisons or qualifications where they fit.
What qualities make someone pleasant to be with?
Someone pleasant to be with is usually a good listener, reasonably positive, and comfortable with other people being themselves. A sense of humour helps too, as long as it isn’t used to embarrass others. I also think reliability matters. If someone constantly cancels plans or only talks about themselves, the relationship can become tiring. Pleasant company doesn’t mean a person has to be entertaining all the time; sometimes being calm, considerate, and easy to talk to is enough.
Why do people enjoy spending time with certain individuals more than others?
People tend to enjoy the company of those who make them feel understood and comfortable. Shared interests can help because they create easy topics for conversation, but emotional compatibility is probably more important. Two people can have different hobbies and still enjoy each other’s company if they respect one another and communicate naturally. Past experiences also matter. When people have shared memories and trust built over time, even ordinary activities like having coffee can feel more enjoyable than doing something exciting with a stranger.
Is it better to spend a lot of time with someone or just meaningful time?
I think meaningful time is more important. Spending many hours together doesn’t automatically create a strong relationship if both people are distracted or barely communicate. A shorter conversation where people genuinely listen to each other can have much more value. Of course, relationships still need enough regular contact to stay close, so quantity isn’t completely irrelevant. The ideal situation is probably a balance: seeing each other often enough, but making at least some of that time attentive and meaningful.
Why is quality time important in relationships?
Quality time gives people a chance to maintain emotional connection rather than just sharing the same physical space. It allows them to talk, notice changes in each other’s lives, and provide support when needed. This is especially important when work or study makes daily life busy. Without deliberate time together, relationships can slowly become distant even if there’s no argument. Quality time also creates shared memories, which can strengthen trust and make people feel that the relationship is valued.
