Introduction and Interview
Answer familiar questions naturally and directly.
What do you do for work?
I work in customer support for an online retail company. I answer customer messages, check order details and help solve problems with deliveries, refunds or product information.
What do you like about your job?
I like the problem-solving side of it. When a customer starts out frustrated and I can find a clear solution, the conversation usually ends much more positively.
What skills are important in your work?
Patience and communication are probably the most important. I also need to pay attention to small details because one wrong order number or date can create more confusion.
What festivals are important in your country?
The Spring Festival is probably the most important one for my family. The Mid-Autumn Festival is also significant because people often get together and share food.
Do you enjoy festivals?
Yes, especially when I can spend them with family or close friends. I like the atmosphere and the break from normal routines more than the formal activities.
How do people usually celebrate festivals where you live?
People usually have family meals, visit relatives and give small gifts. During larger festivals, shopping areas and streets may also have decorations, performances or special events.
Do you have friends online?
Yes, I have a few. Most are people I met through gaming communities or shared interests, and I’ve been talking to some of them for several years.
How do people make friends online?
Usually through social media, games, forums or online communities. People start discussing a shared interest, then continue talking privately if they get along well.
Do you think online friendships are real friendships?
Yes, they can be. If people communicate regularly, support each other and build trust, the friendship is real even if they rarely meet in person. Meeting offline can still make it stronger.

Describe a time you visited a library
- When you went there
- What you did there
- What you liked or disliked about it
- Why libraries are useful or not
A library visit I remember was during my final year of college, when I needed a quiet place to prepare for an important exam. I went to the main public library near the city center on a Saturday morning because my apartment was noisy that weekend. I arrived quite early and found a desk near a large window on the second floor. I spent most of the day reviewing notes, reading a reference book and making a study plan for the following week. What I liked most was the atmosphere. Everyone around me was reading or working, so I found it much easier to concentrate than at home. The library also had good lighting, comfortable desks and free Wi-Fi, which made studying fairly convenient. The only thing I disliked was that the café area became crowded at lunchtime, so I had to wait for a seat while eating. I think libraries are still useful because they provide a quiet, affordable place for people who may not have a good study environment at home. They also give access to books and other resources without requiring people to buy everything themselves. I left in the evening feeling tired but satisfied because I had completed much more work than I expected.
Do you often think about this experience?
Not very often, but I remember it whenever I need to concentrate. It reminded me that changing my study environment can make a big difference.

Discussion

Why are libraries still important in modern society?
Libraries still provide free or low-cost access to books, information, internet connections and quiet working space. That matters for people who cannot afford every resource or who live in crowded homes. Modern libraries also offer digital materials, community programs and study areas. Their role has changed, but they still support education and equal access to information in a very practical way.
What are the advantages of studying in a library rather than at home?
A library usually has fewer household distractions, so students may find it easier to focus for longer periods. Seeing other people studying can also create a productive atmosphere. At home, it is easy to start doing chores, lying down or checking entertainment. On the other hand, studying at home is more convenient and comfortable, so the better choice depends on the person.
Do students today have better study resources than before?
Yes, in many ways. Students can access online courses, digital libraries, educational videos and research databases that were difficult or impossible to reach in the past. They can also communicate with teachers more easily. However, having more resources does not automatically improve learning. Students still need to judge which information is reliable and avoid becoming distracted by the same devices they use for study.
Why do some people study better in quiet public places?
Some people associate a quiet public place with work, so they become focused as soon as they sit down there. Libraries also remove many home distractions, such as family conversations, television or housework. At the same time, being around other people who are studying can create gentle social pressure to keep working. For certain students, that environment is more motivating than studying alone.
