PART 1

Introduction and Interview

Answer familiar questions naturally and directly.

Topic 1 · Work

What do you do for work?

Sample Answer

I work for a small online retail company in customer support. Most of my day involves answering messages, checking orders and helping customers solve delivery or product problems.

What do you like about your job?

Sample Answer

I like solving practical problems. It’s satisfying when someone contacts us feeling frustrated and I can explain the situation clearly or find a solution that actually helps them.

What skills are important in your work?

Sample Answer

Clear communication is essential, and patience matters a lot too. I also need to be organized because I may be dealing with several customer cases at the same time.

Topic 2 · Deadlines

Do you have deadlines often?

Sample Answer

Yes, quite often. We have deadlines for customer cases, reports and internal tasks, so I usually have several things that need to be completed by specific times each week.

How do you meet deadlines?

Sample Answer

I break larger tasks into smaller steps and deal with the most urgent ones first. I also keep a simple list so I don’t rely on memory when the day gets busy.

Do deadlines help you work better?

Sample Answer

Usually, yes. A reasonable deadline helps me focus and decide what should come first. Very tight deadlines can create unnecessary stress, though, especially if the work depends on other people.

Topic 3 · Screen Protectors

Do you use a screen protector?

Sample Answer

Yes, I always use one. My phone wasn’t extremely expensive, but replacing the screen would still cost enough that I’d rather protect it.

Do you think it’s necessary?

Sample Answer

I think so, especially if you carry your phone everywhere. A screen protector is cheap and easy to replace, while a damaged screen can be inconvenient and expensive to repair.

Have you ever cracked your screen?

Sample Answer

Yes, once. I dropped an older phone on a tiled floor, and the screen cracked badly in one corner. Since then, I’ve always used both a case and a screen protector.

PART 2

Long Turn

Speak continuously and develop the cue card as one natural response.

CUE CARD

Describe a time you tried camping (or wanted to)

You should say:
  • Where it was or would be
  • Who you went with or would go with
  • What you did or would do there
  • Why you liked or would like it
Sample Answer

I haven’t done much camping, but I tried it once with three friends at a campsite near a lake about two years ago. It was around a two-hour drive from the city, so it felt remote without being completely isolated. One of my friends had camping equipment already, which made the trip much easier because I didn’t own a tent or sleeping bag. We arrived in the afternoon, set up two tents and then walked around the lake before it got dark. In the evening, we cooked a simple meal on a portable stove, played cards and talked outside for several hours. The best part was probably the quiet atmosphere after sunset. In the city, there is almost always traffic or some kind of background noise, but there I could hear insects, water and very little else. Sleeping was less enjoyable because the ground felt much harder than I expected, and I woke up several times during the night. Still, I liked the overall experience because it forced me to slow down and spend time away from screens and work. I wouldn’t want to camp for a whole week, but for one or two nights, I’d happily do it again, especially somewhere with good scenery and basic facilities nearby.

ROUND-OFF QUESTION

Would you recommend this experience to your friends?

Sample Answer

Yes, as long as they’re comfortable with simple conditions. I’d especially recommend starting with an organized campsite rather than somewhere completely remote.

PART 3

Discussion

Develop your ideas with reasons, examples, comparisons or qualifications where they fit.

Discussion Theme 1 · Camping and Outdoor Lifestyles

What are the advantages and disadvantages of camping compared with staying in a hotel?

Sample Answer

Camping is usually cheaper and gives people more direct contact with nature, which can make a trip feel more adventurous. It also encourages people to spend time outside instead of staying in a room. The disadvantages are comfort, weather and preparation. Hotels offer proper beds, bathrooms and security, while camping requires equipment and can become unpleasant very quickly if it rains heavily or gets unusually cold.

Why do some people enjoy camping?

Sample Answer

Some people enjoy the sense of freedom and the break from normal routines. Camping can also make simple activities, like cooking outdoors or watching the sunset, feel more interesting because the environment is different. For people who spend most of their time indoors or in cities, it provides a strong contrast. Of course, others find the lack of comfort stressful rather than relaxing.

Discussion Theme 2 · Simple Living

Do you think modern life is too comfortable?

Sample Answer

In some ways, yes. Many daily tasks require very little physical effort now, and food, transport and entertainment can be available almost instantly. Convenience is useful, but it can also make people less patient and less active. I don’t think comfort itself is a problem, though. The issue is whether people still choose to challenge themselves, exercise and learn practical skills when they don’t absolutely have to.

Can living simply make people happier?

Sample Answer

Yes, for some people. Having fewer possessions and commitments can reduce stress because there is less to maintain, organize and pay for. Simple living can also help people focus on relationships or experiences rather than constant consumption. However, it shouldn’t be romanticized. Financial security, comfortable housing and access to useful technology can genuinely improve quality of life, so simplicity works best when it is a choice rather than a necessity.
